Japanese wrapping cloths furoshiki are a great alternative to paper gift wrap. I made these using cotton with simple sashiko stitching on the borders and corners. Easy and quick to stitch up, I love that they add a handmade touch and can be saved to use year after year!
Furoshiki can be made in any size and with any kind of fabric though light, thin fabrics are easier to tie. Cut a large square of fabric and hem the edges. Then embellish with embroidery. That's it!
